The Mini Bullet pen is so called because it has sort of a bullet shape. It's very short, but fat, which make it nice to write with (especially if like me, you like fat pens). The pen was made to be portable, and can be easily carried in a pant pocket or purse.

About the Mini-Bullet... This was one of the very first kit pens I made when I decided to try my hand at making pens. I thought the style was simple enough that I shouldn't be able to screw it up. That was several years ago, and it became one of my favorite pens. The Mini Bullet pen is so called because it has sort of a bullet shape. It's very short, but fat, which make it nice to write with (especially if you're like me and like fat pens). One of the great things about this pen is that it was made to be portable. So it's small enough that it can be easily carried in a pant pocket or purse and won't take up a lot of room. And despite it's unusual size and shape, it's VERY COMFORTABLE to use. The nice round shape makes it easy to hold and it's long enough that you can hold and use it just like a regular pen. These days with all the worry about passing along germs, I carry one with me everywhere I go and pull it out whenever I have to sign for a purchase or fill out a form.

Size... The size stated is the standard size for this pen using the standard kit parts, and although I think the size is perfect, the length of the upper section can be adjusted longer or shorter to sure your specific size preference. The standard length of the top section (acrylic only) is 2" long, and the lower section is 1 1/4" long.

New-- Add a STYLUS! When I finally purchased a tablet PC, I figured I should make myself a stylus, but I didn't care for any of the standard stylus kits that are available. The mini (key chain) style I always thought was too small, and I thought the ones that were pen length were too long. One evening when I was working on my tablet and wanted to write something down, I grab my Mini-bullet off the dresser and it hit me-- make one of these little guys with a stylus! That way I had the advantage of a small pen, but also had the stylus. That way I could have just ONE pen instead of two. AND I LOVE IT!

Adding the stylus... I had to do some slight alterations to the standard Mini-Bullet pen in order to use the stylus. First, as you can see by comparing the two photo's, the pen with the stylus has a straighter taper. That was done so the pen had the same taper as the metal band on the stylus. But I thought it might help make the pen more comfortable to hold when flipped around. Second, you can't tell by looking at the photo, but the diameter at the top is made slightly smaller to match the diameter of the metal band. But the different is negligible.

The stylus is available separately AND come in either 24k gold or chrome finishes, as well as in a variety of tip colors. So just like the blue pen shown, you can have a stylus that coordinates with the acrylic. The Stylus is available in a variety of styles and colors.
